Hi, I’m Anna.
I became a widow on 13 February 2021, when my husband, Andy, died after a long battle with cancer. Although his death was expected, I felt completely lost and couldn’t imagine how I would ever be okay again. You can read our story here.

I read many books to help me, but I struggled to find the hopeful, real and uplifting support I needed. This led me to write and illustrate the book I wish I’d had: A Journey Through Grief.

A gentle companion through grief
A Journey Through Grief is an honest, compassionate and uplifting guide to help you navigate loss with greater understanding, hope and compassion.
Through my own story, insights and journal entries, I share how I went from feeling completely lost after Andy died to slowly rediscovering joy and creating a life that supports and nurtures me.

Throughout the book, my original artwork brings touches of colour and light to even the darkest days. Carefully chosen journal prompts at the end of each chapter invite you to reflect on your own experiences and take small, gentle steps forward.
Inside, you’ll find:
- My personal experience of love, loss and rebuilding.
- Gentle guidance to help you understand your grief.
- Original illustrations offering comfort and light.
- Thoughtful journal prompts and guided reflection.
Does this feel familiar?
Do you feel lost and alone after losing your partner or other loved one?
Are you worried that the heartbreak and pain will never ease?
Do you wonder how you will heal or find a way to live without them?
Are you afraid that moving forward means leaving them behind?
If you recognise any of these feelings, A Journey Through Grief was written for you.

I understand because I’ve been where you are.
Although nothing can take away the pain of grief, there are gentle ways to support yourself and ease some of the suffering along the way.
This is what I share in A Journey Through Grief. This is the book I wish I’d had.
